Identifying the exact boundaries of Istanbul’s districts with all their twisted, narrow streets is often difficult, and Beyoğlu is no exception. For the purpose of this blog, I defined it as the area stretching from the Golden Horn (Haliç) all the way up the steep hill to Taksim and even a little beyond.
While Beyoğlu certainly has some must-see tourist attractions like Dolmabahçe Palace and the Galata Tower, it is mainly the place to be as soon as the sun calls it a day. The hundreds of bars and restaurants on Istiklal Caddesi, in Nevizade or inside the Flower Passage offer some of Istanbul’s finest drinks, dishes and live music.

  6. Flower Passage (Çiçek Pasajı)
  7. Tünel
