Divan Street (Divan Yolu) is the main street in Sultanahmet. Easily recognizable by the tramway which runs on it, going back and forth between Zeytinburnu and Kabataş.

Sultanhamet is, together with Taksim, the first name or town that springs to people’s mind whenever a stay in Istanbul is mentioned. Not surprisingly, since it houses famous landmarks such as Topkapi Palace with its Harem, the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. But it is also home to plenty of nice cafe and restaurant terraces from which you can enjoy all the monuments.

Taksim Square (Taksim Meydanı) is considered as the heart of modern Istanbul, and is also the starting point of the famous Istiklal Caddesi. Unfortunately, the busy square is not what you would call an architectural masterpiece.
